You could use something like a tiny post earring with a pointy side and a clasp on the other side. Put it thru the sash and pin to the inside of the shirt she’s wearing. Use two at the top and one at the bottom so it doesn’t shift around.

You can wear the Stetson but you shouldn’t till you earn your spurs on a spur ride.

Use acetone and an old toothbrush, reapplying the acetone a number of times and brushing to remove it layer-by-layer. Work on outside and then on inside. May not come off entirely.

Whats the rule behind the Cav Scouts Stetson hats?
Do you have to be a NCO or an officer to wear one, or is it anyone, cause I see mostly NCO’s wearing them, but I saw a PFC wear one once. Whats the rule behind them?

It’s not a current national GSUSA Interest Project Award. What Council are you in? Several have created Council’s Own awards at various levels, maybe it’s one of those. I looked at several oceanography/sea life/etc. Council’s Own IPA’s, but none sound quite like that. It might show up on your Council’s website.

Also, are you sure it was an IPA and not just a participation patch?

I was a Girl Scout for 10 years. I started with Brownies and went all the way through juniors, cadets, seniors.

Brownies was a lot of fun and had a tremendous impact on my life. I made new friends and learned alot. Usually Brownies will meet about once a week, most often after school or on weekday evenings, about an hour or two depending on activities. Also, because she will be a brownie, there will be many opportunities for summer camps (girl scout camps are so fun). In our brownie troops, we did some homework (not alot) and worked on patches/badges. It was great because the girls all learn something, but also, they feel so accomplished in getting their patches.

If she stays with it as long as I did, it becomes a wonderful memory. We did the Silver and Gold Awards, which are the two highest honors for community service in the Girl Scouts.

I would sign her up for a year and see if she likes it. You renew your membership every year, so you can just choose not to continue if she no longer likes it. Also, local troops may let you sit in on one or two meetings to see what she thinks.
